The baby has been born!!  The word is that she is "big"  I will follow up with stats..

Jen knows how to get things done at the end. The nurse just checked again and she is a 10. She scurried out to call the doctor. Hope he makes it!

a six!

For those of you at home keeping score, the number six is higher than the number five. And Jen is now at six. Maybe we will get to say hello to this baby today after all.

How is baby?

Baby seems to be doing well. There is no apparent stress from the water being broken, and no current stress from the pitocin. Although they had Jen on a higher dose earlier and there seemed to be a little stress, the current level seems to be just fine. Heart rate good, plenty of movement, so far so good. She just doesn't seem very anxious about getting out.

How is Jen?

She is doing ok. She is tired, after a night of little sleep and plenty of contractions. She is uncomfortable, but not in much pain because of the glory of the epidural. She has been getting naps, and overall doing well, but it is not much fun that she is still dilated at less than 5, and the contractions have been 3-4 minutes apart for the last 20 hours.

Jen is at about 4 1/2.  They took her off the Pitocin for a while so they could break her water.  They just put her back on the Pitocin.

The story so far

Tuesday, Jen and Boydell get to the hospital.  Jen is not yet ready for Pitocin.  She has been at the hospital over night receiving a different medicine to help the dilation start.  She was going to start getting Pitocin this morning (Wednesday the 30th) early, like 5 am or so.  I haven't yet heard if that happened.

Tyler received a text from Boydell saying that it was slow going at 11:50 today.
